PLAYWRIGHT

Chase Your Dreams Wearing Sneakers: The Musical is Ms. Dzenyuy's debut written performance piece. Inspired by her work on a six-month children's tour with Theatreworks USA, Ms. Dzenyuy began developing a play that focused on various hardships faced by young people, especially at-risk youth.  This musical tackles symptoms of a long-standing problem and gives viable solutions. Low self-esteem,  limited personal development, heightened peer pressure and the fear that enables these negative attitudes to thrive are issues Christina confronts from the perspective of a young, African-American female living, breathing and dreaming in urban America. Chase Your Dreams Wearing Sneakers: The Musical is the product of this vision.

COMPOSER

Ms. Dzenyuy earned her Associate of Science in Recording Engineering at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business - Marketing from Howard University in Washington, DC. Her educational pursuits aided Ms. Dzenyuy in the development of her recorded works and further musical compositions. Ms. Dzenyuy wrote the song lyrics and composed the music for Chase Your Dreams Wearing Sneakers: The Musical. During the performance, Christina accompanies herself with the  keyboard, bringing the show to life using inspirational lyrics, powerful chord progressions and a unique musical style. Ms. Dzenyuy also composed much of the music on both her debut and motivational CDs.
